Those illicit rain barrels for the tomato bed arrived in gigantic boxes, the kind of boxes that are too good to just toss in the recycling bin. So we handed them over to the kiddos’ imaginations. The girls made a play house (complete with curtains, and a shelf on the window for feeding the birds).


The boys made something that kept changing from a rocket ship into a house and then back into a rocket ship again.


These little playhouses are living on our patio. I suppose they’ll eventually be taken by the next rainstorm. Until then, these humble boxes are providing daily entertainment for the kiddos.
